Description

The lacing in this case is open: the space between the eyelet tabs reveals the underlying tongue, a feature that makes this lace-up shoe perfect for wearing even in a casual context. The ability to adjust the lacing and the distance between the two quarters makes the Country an ideal shoe for those with wide feet or high insteps because it facilitates fitting. A little curiosity: probably the most iconic shoes made of suede are the Blue Suede Shoes from the 1956 song by Elvis Presley. The story goes that Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash were in line and someone in front of them shouted, “Hey! Don’t step on my blue suede shoes!”: the exclamation inspired Elvis and became a globally successful song, quickly topping the US charts. After the release of the song, Elvis bought a pair of suede shoes that were displayed at the Elvis-A-Rama Museum in Las Vegas thirty-five years later.

1 - LEATHER

Completely water-repellent suede leather.

2 - OPEN LACING

The space between the eyelet tabs reveals the underlying tongue.

3 - BROGUE WORKMANSHIP

Ornamental perforations are present on the toe cap, vamp, and around the shoe. Wingtip toe.

The Country Super Book Mocca shoe is made of suede leather, also known as suede or velours, which is softer and more flexible than standard "full grain" leather and completely water-repellent. This model, with a wingtip toe, is also called Brogue due to the presence of ornamental perforations on the toe cap, vamp, and around the shoe. A little curiosity: these holes have a very humble functional origin as they allowed water to drain out of the shoes while working in the fields. Only in the 1930s were they introduced in England as elegant decorations, called "broguings".

Each creation keeps the promise made by our craftsmen: to innovate the company while fully respecting the Italian shoemaking tradition. The story of Mille885 is an authentic Italian story, made to be told.
